Notes for Lauchlan Alexander HAMILTON CPR land commissioner and surveyor who established prairie town sites near US/Canadian border. 1883: Vancouver; surveyed and named streets. 1885: surveyed CPR English Bay to Hastings Street. 1886: surveyed Liverpool area after fire of 13 June 1886. Proposed Stanley Park and laid out perimeter. Noted amateur photographer. Hamilton Street named for and by him.
